Samsung Ativ One 5 Style vs

W.A.Khan,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Samsung Ativ One 5 Style                                                                                                                                                                                                       The Ativ One 5 Style is the latest all-in-one touch-screen PC from Samsung, and it's hoping to be your TV, media center, and office. Daft name aside, it's styled like the company's Galaxy tablet range, boasts a full HD touch-enabled 21.5-inch display, and a quad-core processor. This 21.5in touchscreen desktop PC has a Full HD (1920x1080) resolution but an unfortunate glossy reflective finish. It's powered by an AMD A6 quad-core processor with shared graphics and 4GB of RAM. It seemed nippy enough during our hands-on time with it running Windows 8.From the front, the Style looks rather like a giant Galaxy Tab. Like the Tabs, it's a crisp white, glossy affair with a thick white bezel surrounding the screen. Around the edge is the same chrome-effect band Samsung uses on most of its Galaxy tablets and phones.Connectivity includes two USB3.0, two USB2.0, HDMI in and out, RJ45 (via a dongle) and a card reader. There's also a model an aerial socket you can watch and record HD TV and there's also Bluetooth so you can use it as a speaker for your smartphone or tablet.                                                                                                                                                                          VS                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Apple iMac 21.5-inch                                                                                                                                                                           Apple's attention to detail extends to the 21.5-inch version of its thin-looking Apple iMac.
But, Windows-based all-in-one PCs offer tough hardware competition in the sub-$1,400 price range.
The bottom line: The 21.5-inch iMac will be a compelling lower-cost all-in-one for Mac loyalists, but you can get more capabilities from similarly priced Windows all-in-ones.

They're both basic: The keyboard has flat, Chiclet-style keys that are widely spaced and easy to type on. The mouse is a bit big and blocky, but it's fine for basic work.
The retail-only HP TouchSmart 520-1050y offers solid performance for its price, and has most of the features we look for in a midrange all-in-one.
But, The lack of an HDMI input is inexcusable, but worse is the fact that you can get the same model for $50 less via HP.com.
The bottom line: HP does shoppers a disservice with the inconsistent pricing between this otherwise decent retail-only desktop and the more affordable, identical model available via HP's Web site.                                                                                               Specifications
