HP ElitePad 900 vs Microsoft Surface RT vs Google Nexus 10 ;Which one is Better?

W.A.Khan,                                                                                                                                                                          31/5/2013,                                                                                                                                                                                                            HP ElitePad 900                                                                                                                                                                                            ElitePad 900 offers similar functionality to the Surface Pro in a much smaller and more stylish shell and - probably - at a cheaper price.HP ElitePad 900 Windows tablet for a spin to see how it stacks up in a world of thin-and-light, high performance tablets.
The HP ElitePad 900 is a well-built business tablet with an impressive array of add-ons and accessories.
But, The base tablet starts out expensive, and those docks and jacket accessories add even more to the cost. Intel's Atom performance continues to underwhelm.
The bottom line: If someone else is footing the bill, HP's expensive ElitePad 900 and its accessory ecosystem cover a lot of bases, but this isn't going to be a consumer crossover product.                                                                                                                Specifications

The tablet feels strong and well-built, runs Office 2013, and includes rich video and music services. Its keyboard cover accessories are the best ways to type on a tablet, period.
But, The tablet's performance can be sluggish, its Windows Store is a ghost town, Metro takes getting used to, and the Desktop interface feels clunky and useless.
The bottom line: If you're an early adopter willing to forget everything you know about navigating a computer, the Surface tablet could replace your laptop. Everyone else: wait for more apps.                                                                                                         Specifications

It's both thinner and lighter than the most recent iPad at 9mm and 604g.The Google Nexus 10 is clearly a brilliant tablet. It's got top-end specs at a mid-range price; that alone makes it deserving of attention. The Nexus 10 has a beautifully sharp screen. It's light, durable, and has the fastest processor of any Android tablet. Photo Sphere is an incredibly cool concept. Google's content ecosystem is only getting better.
But, The included charger isn't fast enough to power the battery while playing a game; even while idle, it charges painfully slowly. There's no storage expansion option, and apps that take full advantage of the screen are currently few and far between. Navigating isn't quite as seamless as on the Nexus 7.
The bottom line: The Nexus 10's superior design and swift performance make it one of the best Android tablets to date.        Specifications

Dell XPS 18 vs Asus Transformer AIO vs Sony Vaio Tap 20 ;Who is the Best?

W.A.Khan,                                                                                                                                             31/5/2013,                                                                                                                                                                                                     Dell XPS 18                                                                                                                                                                               The Dell XPS 18 is one of emerging new category of PC. It's an all-in-one Windows 8 machine which sits on a heavy metal stand and comes with a wireless keyboard and mouse. The Dell XPS 18 combines an all-in-one PC with a lightweight 18-inch tablet, making it a flexible system for at-home entertainment and productivity.
But, You're paying a premium for a relatively small screen. Less expensive configurations cut too many corners to be a good deal.
The bottom line: It's the best of the small handful of current tablet/all-in-one hybrids, with a subtle, sophisticated design and good battery life, but this new genre is still in its early days.                                                                                                        Specifications                                                                                                                                                                               Display size/pixel resolution 18-inch, 1,920x1,080 touch screen                                                                                                     PC CPU 1.8GHz Intel Core i5-3337U                                                                                                                                      PC memory 8GB 1,600MHZ DDR3 SDRAM                                                                                                                           Graphics 32MB Intel HD Graphics 4000                                                                                                                            Storage 1TB, 7,200rpm hard drive                                                                                                                                                   Optical drive None                                                                                                                                                                        Networking Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n wireless, Bluetooth 4.0                                                                                                 Operating system Windows 8 Pro (64-bit)                                                                                                                              Price $1,349.99                                                                                                                                                                                 VS                                                                                                                                                                                                Asus Transformer AIO                                                                                                                                                               The Asus Transformer AIO delivers a fast Windows 8 all-in-one, a giant Android tablet, and an effective platform for using them in tandem.
But, Remote desktop technology makes using Windows 8 in tablet mode unreliable, and you might prefer to wait to buy until later this year when the category has matured.
The bottom line: You'd be smart to wait and see how the market develops, but Asus has used the freedom of the still-forming all-in-one/tablet hybrid category to create a compelling Windows 8/Android device in the Transformer AIO.

By slapping a battery inside a 20-inch touch-screen all-in-one to make the Sony Vaio Tap 20, the company has given birth to a new PC category with great potential in tech-savvy homes.
But, The touch screen has some frustrating drag, and Sony made a few missteps among some otherwise reasonable sacrifices for portability and price.
The bottom line: A compelling experiment in tablet-desktop hybridization, the Sony Vaio Tap 20 is a great fit for home tech enthusiasts willing to try something new.

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 vs HP Envy x2 vs Microsoft Surface Pro ;Who is Hot Cake?

W.A.Khan,                                                                                                                                                    29/5/2013,                                                                                                                                                                                                Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13                                                                                                                                                                   The 13-inch Lenovo Yoga was one of the first convertible Windows 8 tablet/laptops.The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 looks as good as any 13-inch ultrabook, with the added attraction of a 360-degree screen and a laptop body that can fold into a tent, stand, or slate.
But, Tablet mode leaves the keyboard exposed, and the Yoga 13 costs more than standard ultrabooks with similar components.
The bottom line: The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 is a convertible touch-screen laptop/tablet that most importantly doesn't compromise the traditional laptop experience.                                                                                                                                        Specifications

Its outstanding industrial design really shows the potential of a tablet/laptop hybrid. The HP Envy x2 has a clean, comfortable design and feels lightweight in tablet form. It has excellent battery life, and works just as well as a laptop as it does as a tablet.
But, The laptop mode is top-heavy, and the awkward tablet detachment mechanism isn’t perfect; it has limited ports; and a slower Atom processor means in performance it's far behind most ultrabooks, even though it’s priced like one.
The bottom line: The HP Envy x2’s capacity to be a full Windows 8 tablet or dock with a keyboard works as well as advertised, provided you’re willing to live with slower performance at a high price. You’re paying for style.

As a hybrid PC it's an undeniable compromise - but that's no bad thing.                                                                                          The Microsoft Surface Pro fits a full ultrabook experience in a compact 10-inch tablet. Thanks to the ingenious Type and Touch covers, it offers a comfortable interface and typing experience. The clean, crisp design and sharp 1080p screen rise above the competition.
But, The battery life is disappointing, and more ports would be nice. The 64GB model barely has any free storage. It costs as much as a regular laptop, especially because the cool keyboard cover isn't included by default.
The bottom line: The Surface Pro's gutsy design successfully reinvents the Windows 8 laptop by cramming an ultrabook experience into the body of a 10-inch tablet. Those wanting to go all-in on the tablet experience won't regret buying the Surface Pro, but we're holding out for a future, more polished generation of the device.

W.A.Khan,                                                                                                                                               27/5/2013,                                                                                                                                                                                              Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon 27                                                                                                                                                            The Horizon Table PC may not look like your average computer, but its got familiar internals. The large screen and lie-flat design make the Lenovo Horizon 27 a fun family PC with lots of casual gaming potential. It includes several gaming accessories and has a custom user interface, Aura.
But, The heavy, clunky kickstand can get in the way, there's a little sluggishness with some of the software, and battery life is way too short for a game of Monopoly.
The bottom line: Tabletop PCs may not be fully ready for the mainstream, but this coffee-table-size version from Lenovo is fun to use, and doubles as a solid all-in-one desktop.                                                                                                                         Specifications                                                                                                                                                                                    Display size/pixel resolution    27-inch, 1,920x1,080 touch screen                                                                                                   PC CPU     1.8GHz Intel Core i5-3427U                                                                                                                                          PC memory    8GB 1,600MHZ DDR3 SDRAM                                                                                                                         Graphics        2GB Nvidia GeForce GT620M                                                                                                                                               Storage         1TB, 5,400rpm hard drive                                                                                                                                        Optical drive       None                                                                                                                                                           Networking         Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n wireless, Bluetooth 4.0                                                                                        Operating system          Windows 8 (64-bit)                                                                                                                                  Price;$1,699                                                                                                                                                                                      VS                                                                                                                                                                                                         HP Envy 23 (November 2012)                                                                                                                                                       A lower-end version of the Envy 23 would make a decent, if unremarkable touch-screen all-in-one.
But, This high-end review configuration has no distinguishing characteristics, leaving it outmatched next to its competition in this price range.
The bottom line: A bland effort, the HP Envy 23 has nothing to recommend it over other Windows 8 touch-screen all-in-ones.

But, The Aspire misses on price vs. performance, and Dell's 2,560x1,440-pixel resolution XPS One 27 makes 1,920x1,080-pixel screens like this one feel pedestrian.
The bottom line: Subpar computing components and a dominant high-end all-in-one from Dell hurt Acer's high-end, visually compelling Aspire 7600U.

Microsoft Surface RT vs Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 vs Acer Iconia W510P-1406;Which one is Hot Cake?

W.A.Khan,                                                                                                                                          26/5/2013,                                                                                                                                                                  Microsoft Surface RT                                                                                                                                                             Microsoft Surface is a strong entrance to the world of PC hardware for Microsoft, and as a device it's certainly highly recommendable. The Microsoft Surface's Metro interface is innovative, elegant, powerful, and versatile.

All-day battery life makes it great for travel.
But, The Tablet 2 is expensive, especially considering the small 64GB SSD, lack of USB 3.0, and generally slow Atom performance.
The bottom line: This Windows 8 tablet from Lenovo scores with great industrial design and battery life, but adding practically required accessories makes the ThinkPad Tablet 2 very expensive for what you get.

Battery life is excellent.
But, In laptop mode, the system is awkwardly top-heavy, and the puny keyboard and touch pad are not designed for serious use.
The bottom line: Offering low-powered Intel Atom tablet/laptop hybrids for $750 or more is a dodgy proposition for budget-looking systems such as the Iconia W510, but all-day battery life is a great selling point.

HP Folio 13 vs Lenovo IdeaPad U310 vs Dell Inspiron 13z ;Best one is.............

W.A.Khan,                                                                                                                                          25/5/2013,                                                                                                                                                                                                 HP Folio 13                                                                                                                                                                                    The HP Folio 13 comes with one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 port. Though both are black, the USB 3.0 port is marked underneath with the SuperSpeed USB logo. The HP Folio 13 has everything that matters most in an ultrabook: very good battery life, an excellent backlit keyboard, all the requisite ports for mobile use, and a very comfortable feel, along with a competitive entry-level price.
But, The Folio 13 is no looker compared with other ultrabooks, and is a bit thicker and heavier than thin laptops such as the MacBook Air. The clickpad's just a bit too finicky for our tastes, too.
The bottom line: When it comes to Windows ultrabooks, the HP Folio 13 is the best of the bunch in terms of performance, price, and ergonomics, provided you can live with a less-than-razor-thin design. This laptop is targeted at small businesses but it's really for anyone who wants a reliable ultrabook that isn't a MacBook Air.                                                                                                  Specifications

But, The thicker, heavier design weighs a bit more than last year's U300s, and there aren't any SSD-only upgrade options.
The bottom line: The Lenovo IdeaPad U310 is an all-around decent ultrabook that's perfectly priced for back-to-school shoppers, but there are plenty of alternatives with nearly identically prices and features.

But, The plastic body feels cheap, as do the ports flaps and small touch pad.
The bottom line: With the same CPU as you find in ultrabooks that cost a lot more, the Dell Inspiron 13z is a budget laptop that holds its head up high.

Lenovo ThinkPad Helix vs HP Envy Spectre XT 13-2050nr vs Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A ;Which one is Better?

W.A.Khan,                                                                                                                                             24/5/2013,                                                                                                                                                                                              Lenovo ThinkPad Helix                                                                                                                                                                    The ThinkPad Helix is powered by a third generation Intel Ivy Bridge processor, up to Core i7 and up to 8GB of DDR3 1600MHz RAM. Aiding performance is an SSD of up to 256GB so its performance is top-notch. You’ll be able to choose between Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro.The Lenovo ThinkPad Helix will be available in an array of spec configurations, but the one we saw  demonstrated was a mid-range example, with a Core i5 processor. Core i7 options will also be available. The ThinkPad Helix uses current Ivy Bridge-generation CULV Intel chips, backed-up by 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. The screen and base are each under 2.0 pounds, but that's on the hefty side for an 11.6-inch system. That said, it's 20mm thin, qualifying for ultrabook status, and can run processors up to Intel's current-gen Core i7.Travel-friendly features include 3G/4G antenna options, NFC chip, and a spill-resistant keyboard. The Lenovo ThinkPad Helix feels like a hybrid roadwarrior. It's reasonably light, especially in its class, offers great build quality and careful attention to detail in its construction. It may not be a beauty, but it's one of the better full Windows 8 hybrid designs out there.
Price;$1,499                                                                                                                                                                             VS                                                                                                                                                                                                 HP Envy Spectre XT 13-2050nr                                                                                                                                                            Slim and lightweight, the HP Envy Spectre XT is portable, well-built, and easy to use, with a great keyboard.
But, The design doesn't stand out as much as the original Spectre's did, and its battery life won't get you through an entire day. From a premium product, we'd expect a higher screen resolution.
The bottom line: A high-end laptop at a mainstream price, the HP Envy Spectre XT gets much of the look and feel right, with only a few missteps.

The Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A is a premium computer with a price tag to match. The build quality is excellent, the performance is great for an Ultrabook and the screen is top-notch.
Sadly, the battery life makes you think twice about its good points when you're spending that amount of money - we're just not sure that it's worth it for all that many people.
If you want a high-end Ultrabook, we recommend the Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A as long as battery life isn't your main concern.   Specifications

HP Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 vs Lenovo IdeaPad U310 vs Dell Inspiron 13z - 5323 ;Who is Better one?

W.A.Khan,                                                                                                                                           22/5/2013,                                                                                                                                                                                                   HP Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4                                                                                                                                                    The HP Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 has a nice array of ports, including a cleverly designed 10/100 Ethernet port that expands when you push the cable in but stays within Ultrabook height specs when closed.HP's Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 is an attractive ultrabook with a respectable mix of components for its price, a responsive touch screen, and a backlit keyboard.
But, The Envy TouchSmart 4 isn't very configurable, so you can't make it too much more powerful than it already is. It's on the heavy side for an "ultrabook" (if you consider 4.5 pounds heavy). Its touch pad is jumpy at default settings.
The bottom line: The HP Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 is a good gateway to the Windows 8 experience with a responsive touch screen in a traditional laptop body.                                                                                                                                                 Specifications

Lenovo IdeaPad U310                                                                                                                                                                    The IdeaPad U310 looks great, but that really is its only notable feature, ultimately. The IdeaPad U310 offers up an attractive design and all the basic bells and whistles of a 13-inch ultrabook for $799, including plenty of USB ports and Ethernet.

Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon 27 vs Apple iMac 27-inch vs Dell XPS One 27;Who is Better one?

W.A.Khan,                                                                                                                                           21/5/2013,                                                                                                                                                                                                             Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon 27                                                                                                                                                            The Horizon Table PC may not look like your average computer, but its got familiar internals.
Specifications                                                                                                                                                                                    Display size/pixel resolution    27-inch, 1,920x1,080 touch screen                                                                                                   PC CPU     1.8GHz Intel Core i5-3427U                                                                                                                                          PC memory    8GB 1,600MHZ DDR3 SDRAM                                                                                                                         Graphics        2GB Nvidia GeForce GT620M                                                                                                                                               Storage         1TB, 5,400rpm hard drive                                                                                                                                        Optical drive       None                                                                                                                                                           Networking         Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n wireless, Bluetooth 4.0                                                                                        Operating system          Windows 8 (64-bit)                                                                                                                                  Price;$1,699                                                                                                                                                                                     VS                                                                                                                                                                                                      Apple iMac 27-inch (December 2012)                                                                                                                                              A thin new design and a competitive, logical set of core component updates keep the top-end Apple iMac on elite ground.
But, The lack of HDMI input is frustrating, and Apple's continued reluctance to add a touch screen may bother some.
The bottom line: Apple sticks to the fundamentals with the new iMac, relying on design, strong features, and overall polish to maintain its leadership among high-end all-in-ones.

But, A new adjustable display support arm is welcome, but stops short of reclining a full 90 degrees.
The bottom line: Updated with a touch screen, a new stand, and up-to-date components, the Dell XPS One 27 leads the inaugural class of Windows 8 PCs.
