HP Envy 14 Spectre vs Dell XPS 13 vs Acer Aspire S5 ;Who is the Best?

W.A.Khan,                                                                                                                                              1/5/2013,                                                                                                                                                                                                             HP Envy 14 Spectre                                                                                                                                                                             HP’s Envy Spectre 14 dares to be different with its glass lid and palm-rest, and as long as you don’t touch, it’s a very attractive look. However, ultimately it adds unwanted fingerprints, slipperiness and weight, and HP’s decision to combine it with plastic detracts from the laptop’s premium feel.
The HP Envy 14 Spectre has a unique glass-covered design and packs a lot of features into a slim 14-inch ultrabook body, plus its multitouch response is great for a Windows laptop.
But, It's expensive, especially considering the standard components, and feels heavier than it should. The glass wrist rest can be awkward.
The bottom line: The first big high-design laptop of 2012, the HP Envy 14 Spectre is a bold experiment that largely succeeds, if you're willing to pay a premium for it.                                                                                                                                        Specifications

But, Few ports; a high price; no touch-screen option.
The bottom line: Attractive and compact, the new Dell XPS 13 ultrabook isn't that much different from last year's model, aside from new processors and a higher-res non-touch screen.                                                                                                                  Specifications

But, That port door, named the MagicFlip, is a potential problem if it ever breaks down. The keyboard isn't backlit, and battery life could be better.
The bottom line: Even thinner and lighter than a 13-inch MacBook Air, the Acer Aspire S5 is a great example of an ambitious ultrabook, held back by a few flaws and its high price.                                                                                                            Specifications
